To adjust your garage door s side mounted springs first open your door fully and secure it in place with a c clamp below the bottom roller.

Now s a great time to let the clamps lose and rest the door on the ladder below.
Hold the garage door in this position by attaching a c clamp to the track at a point below the lowest door roller wheel.
Push the open set limit button then release to save the door s position as the new open limit setting.
To open the door completely adjust garage door opener by turning the limit counterclockwise.
This is accomplished by opening the garage door as fully as possible until it hits the stop bolt on the track.
Step 1 adjust the limit turn the adjustment screw on the limit clockwise if the door doesn t fully close.
Another way to test your springs is to see if your garage door is perfectly aligned.
Do this with both sides before testing you should always adjust spring sets evenly.
Otherwise simply slip the spring off of the garage door bracket opposite the hanger and move it to the next hole away from the hanger.
Once your garage door is secured remove the spring hook from the track hanger which will allow you to move the hook and adjust the spring s tension.
If the garage door isn t opening or closing properly then check the tension on the torsion springs for needed adjustments you may need to have someone helping you to adjust the torsion spring because it can be potentially dangerous.
If it doesn t stay in place on its own it s time to replace your garage springs.
