I m over 60 years old and had no trouble installing this window air conditioner into a window that is at eye level. At 12000 btu the ac can provide effective cooling in a room size of 550 square feet. I suppose if you ve only ever had central air it might take getting used to but for those who ve grown up with window ac this unit is a dream. Cooled down a 200 square foot room in less than 8 minutes in 90 degree heat.

It is so quiet you don t think it s running. Cools quickly and is relatively quiet when compared to other portable models i have purchased previously. The unit is super quiet for this size product but it does not cool the room very well. When outside is 90 degree the cooling is not good.

I ve waited until summer was over for us to post this review. The only downsides to the unit are that the led display which shows the temperature does not turn off when you turn the unit off and it is very bright which can be distracting when trying to sleep. This was not our experience. I turned it to 62 degree the lowest it can get but the air it blows out is only slightly cooler than the room temperature.
